Digitisation of workflows is happening in all industries and should be no different in the private healthcare sector. Patients expect service, convenience and efficiency.
RX Direct’s electronic prescribing system works like the NHS EPS system simplifying prescription flows from clinicians to the dispensary. Direct RX is easy to use and complies with the Medicines for Human Use (Prescribing) Order 2005, the regulation allows prescriptions to be signed using advanced electronic signatures. All prescriptions are dispensed and dispatched by our established, fully registered pharmacy in Leicestershire - with highly trained technicians under the control of an experienced senior pharmacist.
01
You will need to provide some identification information and we will then check your credentials before giving you access to the Direct RX online prescribing system.
02
Once connected, you can create fully electronic, digitally signed prescriptions for your patients. No paper or faxes are required. Prescription creation can be done by Prescriber as well as administrative staff and sent to prescriber for authorisation. Repeat prescription option can also be set. Only verified Prescribers can authorise and complete a prescription. You will need to tell us about any admin staff that you would like to have access to the system.
03
The patient will be contacted via email/text for payment by our secure online payment platform. Providing payment is received before 4pm Monday to Friday, medication will be dispatched to arrive at the patient's door the following day . There is no paper prescription or signed prescription required. If preferred, we can set up your account so that you/your practice are invoiced monthly for the cost of medicines dispensed. To do this, please contact us and we will change your account to invoice only.
04
Once paid for, the prescription will be checked by a pharmacist, and then dispensed and dispatched to the patient’s delivery address. Most prescriptions will be dispatched the same day payment is received for next day delivery.
If you want to charge patients a Prescriber Fee, we will facilitate this. This facilitates and protects your ability to charge for the creation of a private prescription. Payments to prescribers are made on a monthly basis by secure online BACS transfer and reports are provided to support the payments made.
